Farmers’ Market Kickoff with BEN

Audible kicked off its biweekly farmers’ market on June 13th in Harriet Tubman Square. The inaugural event was hosted by Audible’s Black Employee Network and the Global Center for Urban Development, which welcomed local Black-owned businesses as the week’s featured vendors. Nearly 350 people attended the farmer’s market to enjoy an evening of music, games, shopping, and healthy food samples. Attendees also received vouchers for Divino Tasting Room and Neighborhood Scoops – two downtown Newark Black-owned businesses. The farmers’ market is happening every second and fourth Tuesday from June through September, and features local farm stand and artisan vendors as well as music, entertainment and yoga.
